Research Centre of Demographic Change
Welcome to the Research Centre of Demographic Change (FZDW) at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.
The Research Centre of Demographic Change (FZDW) at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt was founded in 2007 and examines the consequences and challenges of demographic change in a multidisciplinary approach. Demographic Change is characterized in Germany by a comparatively low birth rate (a shrinking population), increasing life expectancy (aging of the population) and a growing heterogeneous social structure (ethnic minorities, life styles and regional differences). The impacts of these developments are diverse and show first and foremost at the municipal level. The FZDW seeks to analyze and advise political organizations in the process of demographic changes in the Frankfurt region and Hesse.
The FZDW is co-founder of the Frankfurt Demography Network. This is a collaborative effort of 15 institutions in the Rhine-Main area, which are looking for high-quality approaches to the design of the aging and shrinking of the population in the Rhine-Main area. The annual Demography Congresses provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of various approaches since being established in 2010.
The FZDW has a high expertise in examining and evaluating research services. Have you initiated a project and would like to know what effect it reveals or are you interested in how people in your region think about certain issues and topics? If you need support in designing a survey or when evaluating the results of your survey, we are professionals here to advise you. In our projects, we successfully apply numerous methods of data collection and analysis. These may include mailing surveys, qualitative interviews, online surveys, developing questionnaires and offline surveys with Tablet PCs. Please contact us with any further questions.
